A Little Bit About Me

Hi! I'm Danielle Blackwood. I am the author of the forthcoming book: The Twelve Faces of the Goddess: Transform Your Life with Astrology, Magick and the Sacred Feminine, published by Llewellyn Worldwide, which is available now for pre-order and will be released in May 2018.

I am the astrology columnist for SageWoman magazine and Banyen Books and Sound, and have studied and practiced astrology for more than 30 years. I am certified in the Principles and Practice of Contemporary Psychological Astrology through my teacher, world renowned astrologer and author, Erin Sullivan. I am also a registered counseling therapist, RTC, specializing in working with women in the areas of self esteem, sexuality, body image, life transitions, and cultivating a connection with the sacred feminine through personalized rites of passage ceremony. I encourage clients all over the world to live a life of authenticity and radical self acceptance, helping them find meaning on their journey and consciously reframe their stories through an archetypal lens. In 2016 I completed the training intensive "Singing Over the Bones" from the iconic book, Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype, with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
As a priestess, I have been facilitating workshops, classes, ceremony and retreats on astrology and women's mysteries since 1994.

I live in an enchanted cottage on magical Salt Spring Island British Columbia, with my husband Jamie, a six-toed cat named Watson and the newest member of our family, a rescue Staffordshire terrier named Daisy.

Although we can work together via Skype, you are welcome to have your session in the healing paradise that is our Pacific Northwest home. Getting here is more like setting out on a sacred pilgrimage than travelling. As the ferry winds its way past mysterious forested islands, you feel like you are entering a passageway that is taking you to another realm. You'll have a hard time reminding yourself that you haven't just arrived in Middle Earth. The air is a heady concoction of blackberry blossoms, wild rose and sea breeze. There is a between the worlds feeling here, a certain calm that envelops you and reminds you that there are still places that exist where you can leave the frenetic pace of the outside world behind. It is the perfect place to reflect on your journey and take a pause to re-center yourself.

I look forward to working with you.
